About PCD

WELCOME TO PCD

Programme for Community Development (PCD) is a Non-governmental organization established in 1986 and started its development journey with great enthusiasm and encouragement by the community people in order to enhance the socio-economic status of the grassroots people in the village. It was 1st initiated and started in development activities at Chatmohar Upazila in the Pabna district. This organization is registered with the Bureau of NGO Affairs, Prime Minister’s Office, Govt. of Bangladesh, registered with the Department of Social Services, under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Govt. of Bangladesh, also registered with Micro Credit Regulatory Authority under Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank) of the Government of Bangladesh. It has been working for the last 3 years as a driving force for transforming societies towards sustainable development by promoting, advocating, and implementing programs that address the root causes of problems. Now it has been implemented a number of development programs and projects have to bring out sustainable development of vulnerable, disadvantaged, and underprivileged people in the northern parts of the country. To implement all the programs PCD always considers the poverty alleviation issue and takes necessary action for a successful implementation of the program. PCD is implementing its development activities through 46 branches under the Pabna, Natore, Sirajgong & Kushtia districts and 12 Project/Programme unit offices in Natore, Sirajgong, Kushtia, Maherpur, Rajbari, Foridpur, Magura, Tangail, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Mymenshing & Netrokona districts.

LEGAL STATUS & REGISTRATION

PCD has been registered with all the appropriate agencies of the Government of Bangladesh. To build a just, participatory, and sustainable society in which the human rights and the human dignity of men, women, and children are equally respected and people live responsibly in the community with others and with nature.

MISSION

Implementation of different development programs which are socially sound, economically compatible, and environmentally sustainable towards improving the quality of life and livelihoods of disadvantaged communities towards achieving the SDGs.

OBJECTIVES

Facilitating the marginalized and socially excluded people of the society to attain better life and livelihood.
